Basic Badger - A random collection of posts and information from my experiences from two areas of my life.

I've worked my entire career (almost) in University IT, mostly with a focus on Microsoft technology starting with desktop, then server architecture and finally the M365 platform. I have a special interest in End User Device Management and in Identity Management. While I ended my career in a hands-on Technology Lead Role I've also worked as Associate Director and Enterprise Architect. I'm no theoretical MBA techie though, i've served my time rewiring under desks, and eating pizza in the server room at midnight.

In 2023 I was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease. (I'd like to say 'early onset', but it's not that early really. My consultant refers to it as 'early-ish onset'.). This has sadly ended my career, or at least the employed side of it for now as the 'reasonable adjustments' offer didn't reduce the pressure and stress which makes my symptoms worse. I'm hopeful that I will work again, even if part-time etc but until then I'll continue to indulge my tech hobbies and as always, keep learning.
